Membership

Independent Funeral Professionals was started by a group of professionals committed to the perpetuation and strengthening of independent funeral homes.

There are three levels of membership: Founding Members, Charter Members, and Members. Founding membership is limited to 75, and Charter membership is limited to 100. The IFP Board of Governors is restricted to Founding Members.

Membership is open to qualifying firms of all sizes in all parts of the country. Member firms may be in the same city or metropolitan area, but not in competing market areas without the permission of the first member firm.

Firms are “Selected for Excellence”™ according to high standards of service. The public can feel confident that if a firm has passed the qualifications for membership, it provides exceptional service, and high funeral value. Members are recognized for their contributions to their community and to their profession.
